Trudy Hebb, RN, BScN, MHI, CPN(C), CCNE

Trudy brings over 25 years of nursing experience to the Learning Institute. Prior to joining the faculty at the Learning Institute, she worked in a variety of perioperative nursing experiences in Canada and the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and a Master’s Degree in Health Informatics, both from Dalhousie University. She received her national certification in perioperative nursing from CNA as well as her nurse educator certification from the Canadian Nurse Educator Institute.

Trudy has transitioned after many years as faculty in the Perioperative Nursing Program into the Nurse Educator role for Online and Distance Education at the Learning Institute. Trudy supports the overall management of the LMS Brightspace Platform, as well as being an e-learning resource for both faculty and learners. Trudy is passionate about using innovative technologies to support learner engagement and positive learning environments, whether that be in person, online, or through blended learning.

Her personal interests include spending time with her busy family. She also enjoys travelling, sailing, and spending time at her cottage.

Chelsey Millen, BA Hons, LIT

Chelsey is an editor and content specialist with a passion for finding the best ways to organize information so that it is findable, usable, and accessible. Chelsey has a BA with Honours in English (2010) from Dalhousie University and a diploma in Library and Information Technology (2013) from NSCC. She began her career in the book publishing industry where she worked as an editor in a trade publishing house. From there, she gained experience in academic and government libraries. Chelsey has been working in health care since 2014, where she has supported adult education programming, facilitated development of health policy, and designed and implemented content strategies and information architectures for a variety of digital projects and programs.

Chelsey is interested in applying usability and user experience principles to the online learning environment, and is currently pursuing a Certificate in Instructional Design. She joined the Learning Institute in 2021 as a Content Development Advisor with the Online Learning team.

In her free time, Chelsey enjoys spending time with her partner, Matt, and their many pets. She can often be found reading, crafting, playing in her weekly trivia league, or cheering on her two soccer teams, Manchester United and the Halifax Wanderers.
