Sandra Beumer, MEd, BScN, RN, CPMHN(C), CCSNE
Sandra brings over 25 years of Mental Health and Addictions experience to the learning environment. Prior to joining the faculty at RNPDC, she worked in a wide variety of practice settings where she held various clinical and education positions. Throughout her career, she has worked to improve the quality of care and services provided in Mental Health and Addictions designing several practice initiatives that earned Quality Awards.
She holds a Master Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from St. Francis Xavier University. She completed post-graduate specialty education in psychiatric mental health nursing and achieved certification in the specialty from the Canadian Nurses Association. She recently completed the Simulation Certification Program through the Canadian Nurse Educator Institute and received the designation of Canadian Certified Nurse Educator (CCSNE). Sandra is excited to join us and work in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing programs. As faculty, she will continue to contribute to the quality of mental health and addiction services by teaching and supporting current and future learners in the various mental health programs at RNPDC.
Her personal interests include spending time with her family and training their Shiloh Shepherd (Rosco) to be a future pet therapy dog. She also enjoys reading, gardening, traveling and taking long walks in the great outdoors.
